Punk is in the air, time for pink hair… Okay maybe just for one night

Despite getting my first job in a hairdressers, I’ve only experimented with colour twice, going from blonde to brunette, then back to blonde which has stuck ever since. I know, I’m so rock ‘n’ roll.

So when I was given a can of label m.’s new Powder Pink Spay, I didn’t think I’d use it, but since coloured hair has really made an impact on the beauty industry lately, I thought I’d break out of my colour rut. It was designed for blondes after all, although my brunette bestie used it and said it does show, but you have to use quite a lot.

As it’s a quick-drying spray, but things could get messy during application, so lay a towel over you shoulders first and wear old or dark clothes. I started with a more subtle look: ombre tips.

To get this effect I did quick sprays starting at the ends and working my way up, all while keeping the can pointing downwards so that more colour fell onto the ends and made them darker.

The next time I used it I went all out, covering my whole hair in an icy pink hue which I really love! This shade would suit all hair lengths, but particularly cropped styles.

For this lighter pink effect, hold the Powder Pink Spray further away, being careful not to go over the same section, then brush through.

Pretty cool, huh? You could also try pink slices, highlights or an under-colour. It can make hair a little dry, so use serum afterwards, and hairspray will help it stick to the hair for longer.

There’s more hiding in this can than a quick colour fix. Speed and temporary perks aside, it also gives your hair some seriously bad ass volume. The powder makes hair look thicker, adds a mattified texture and lets you mess up your mane to your heart’s content – another reason I prefer to blast it all over.

And when you’ve had enough, just wash it out. After a normal shampooing (I always shampoo my hair twice before using conditioner) there are no traces of pink left, even in bleach. However, since it washes out so easily, I wouldn’t wear white and get caught in the rain, that might be a disaster!

Powder Pink Spray lets you unleash your inner rebel at the weekend, but return to your angelic, professional locks in minutes. Grab a can for £9.95 from Toni & Guy salons and have some rock ‘n’ roll fun. Your secret is safe with label m.
